Ahead of Ghana's 2024 general elections, the question was not whether peace mattered. It was how to get young people into the conversation.

Today Is Us was our attempt. It was designed as a peace advocacy campaign to inspire unity and peaceful coexistence across the country's cultural, political, and religious communities.

The campaign included stakeholder engagements with the Ghana Peace Council and the Ghana National Mosque Complex, alongside community outreach.

At its centre was an anthem. Young musicians from five cultural backgrounds took part, together with a youth Muslim community leader who contributed in local dialects and the children's orchestra of the Académie de Musique Classique (ADMC-Tema).

An appearance on the Onua Reality Show carried the message to a national audience — young patriots speaking to their own generation, on the platform that generation actually watches.

The song was never the whole point. The point was a method: when a lecture will not travel, a melody might.
